Friends at a table toasting with glasses

How are you feeling now that things are opening up? This may be easy for you, but if you are an introvert and/or an empathic person, you might have mixed feelings about these changes. For some of us like me, there were aspects of being at home that we did enjoy. In fact it often felt like part of the day was finally designed for us, because it was OK to be at home for long periods of time. It was nice to enjoy our homes guilt-free.

We are at a turning point and it may feel uncomfortable to make changes again. As a coach, I am giving you permission to take one step at a time. Staying in your personal bubble may feel safe, but if you do that you will be missing out on experiences that I know you want to have. In order to make the shifts again, you can visualize yourself going to specific places out and about (like work, dining, socializing, etc.) and being feeling good through the process. Visualization is a powerful tool; your brain doesn't know the difference between visualizing something and actually experiencing an event. You can use this to your advantage.

Another option to get into the right mindset is to write about the event/experience beforehand so you are prepared. Finally, if the thought of going out is truly difficult and you need support, get it! Whether it is a friend who comes with you, a therapist or a life coach who can help with mindset issues. You have an opportunity to show up differently and prioritize OR you can just do what you have always done. I hope these tips for enjoying the grand opening of the world are helpful for you- and while you can continue to enjoy your home life, dabbling in the outside world will be rewarding as well.

Cheers to your adventure!
